Buying from Gmarket

In this post, I am sharing my experience buying KPOP album from Gmarket for the first time. As we all know, VIXX Ken has released a collaboration album with Producer Kim Hyung Suk. The digital release was on August 15th while the offline release (album sales on stores) was supposed to be on the 16th. Since I was in Seoul until the 17th, I thought I could get my hand on the album. Too bad, the offline release was delayed a few days. Just not my luck.

So I came back to Malaysia, devastated. At first, I was gonna wait till my next trip to Seoul, which I don't really know when. But I just couldn't hold it. It's Ken. It's freakin Lee Jaehwan, guys. My ULTIMATE. And I really didn't wanna go through all the hassle of joining group pre-order and stuff. So I took the expensive way of ordering straight from Gmarket, paying EMS fees all on my own. It's like buying 2 albums.

Below is a detailed explanation on how the process went.

I signed up for an account first. It was an easy process. All you have to do is create an ID, register your email address, and key in your password. You may need to verify your email address before you can proceed with purchase.

Then, search for the album you wish to buy in the search bar. In this case, I typed VIXX KEN. And the result will show a selection of the available albums from various sellers. Make sure to choose wisely, considering the price, reviews and ratings of the seller.

After you have made up your mind, you may add the album to cart. Check your cart and you may change the quantity of the album you are buying, 1, 2 or more. They will also show you the fees for EMS shipping where the price differs depending on the weight of the album and the shipping destination.

Once you are done with the payment, they will provide you with the tracking number where you can see the shipping progress. I ordered mine on August 19th.

You can also check with the national courier service of your country with the tracking number they provided. I did it with mine and it shows almost the same progress.

I received my item on the 27th of August, which took exactly 8 days. I was not at home so they dropped my parcel somewhere and I had to go and pick it up.

I ordered a tad too late to receive the exclusive 12pcs postcards so I end up only getting one which is the #2. It's fine, as long as I can get my hands on the album, I'm all good.

Overall, my experience with Gmarket has been good, specifically buying from YES24BOOK store. I have just placed an order for the VIXX 2019 Season's Greetings, from the same store, because I received some SmileCash and would like to use that in my purchase. I will write down the process so I could share with you guys soon.
